SKY Entertainment Interview - In the UK - March 1998 Shania: I was singing at a resort and i had to put a demo tape together of course aswell. So, somebody from Nashville...I invited this person up to see me in this show. So he got to see me live and then we sat down, i played him my original music on the demo tape and he said, "well, i do know some people in Nashville that might be interested in helping you". And, so i went to nashville on a trip demo'd a few songs with a producer there, and then that producer pitched me to one of his friends, who was an AR guy at mercury and that was it. I don't think anyone nobody realized what was to come. So nobody was excited (laughs) except for me! There is pop influence in my music. There is country music in my music. There is rock influence in my music. So if you say - do you feel that your music is country? Yes! Do you feel your music is rock? Yes! Yes to all of the above. The new single is kinda autobiographical. Although it wasn't intentionally written that way. Something that i guess subconciously surfaced. So this song is about that. It's about two people against all odds that make it. And are just singing about it with absolute glee! Well i get more offers for movies roles than anything, but.. Sky: Do you accept any of them? No, no not right now. I don't really have the time first of all. And I'm not an actress. So if I'm ever in a movie, it will be something very experimental I'll have you know (laughs)
