Shania Twain On THE BOX Music Channel - October 1998

I'm Shania Twain and your watching THE BOX. Music television you control.
Coming up next is my bran new video and it's a pretty simple video actually. It wasnt simple to make mind you. We were still filming the video at 4 oclock in the morning. Until the orchestra decided they'd had enough..(laughs).
Anyway, i wont say anymore about it and i hope you enjoy it. It's FROM THIS MOMENT ON.
FROM THIS MOMENT ON is really just the eternal love song. I started writing that song actually at a Inter Milan game, football game, not that i was bored or anything, i love football.
Mm..but thats where it really started coming about. Maybe it's ‘cos all those football players are so good looking?..i dont know..(laughs)
Well, i started sining proffessionally at the age of eight and i started writing songs at the age of ten. Music is a big escape for me, it's always been my escape, even when i was a young child. It was my toy i guess you could say. Songwriting was sorta my toy.
Well, i did grow up under the northern lights in Canada. In northern Ontario. I personally enjoy being out in the wilderness, that is my favourite place to be. I go write music by a stream, i set up a camp fire and that sort of thing and take my guitar for a walk in the woods. And just spend some really quiet time by myself out there. I wrote most of my songs...outside beside a lake somewhere or camping.
Well, my husband produced the album, both albums, The Woman In Me and this current album Come On Over. And er..his name is Mutt Lange. He's quiet famous for alot of other work that he has done in the past.
He hears me sing around the house, he knows my voice intimately, he encourages things that i might express when I'm writing music that i wouldnt necassarily plan on recording. Because alot of the time I'm just playing with music. I'm just singing around and playing with ideas.
....and he'll catch me and say..”I think that's really cool, i think we should work on that”. He's really good for me creatively in that sense and he challenges me too, on top of that, and he's not afraid to challenge me, and were not, I'm not intimidated by him or offended by his honesty. That maybe when you dont know someone so well, they maybe a little afraid to be that honest, it's a pure luxury.
This album especially Come On Over, was written so much with live performance in mind and I'm on stage I'm just ...i let loose and be myself..mm..theres nothing contrived about it, nothing controlled about it at all, it's very, very communitive, very personable, very raw. And so the music needed to be that aswell. In order to work on stage, especially. And allow me to be my goofy self when i wanted to be or whatever it is i felt, sides of me that all the different sides of me that music brings out.
(Clip of video)
Well. i guess that's it!
er..the single comes out on October 19th. And it's on the album Come On Over. Hope you enjoy it! It's been great talking to you. On THE BOX, music television you control.
